PlaceEngine is a service that estimates the current location of a user's mobile device by using Wi-Fi signals. It can be used in conjunction with GPS technology to support location based services in indoor locations, underground scenarios, and urban areas densely populated with high rise buildings where it might be difficult to use GPS.
